Drills for Better Footwork in Your Golf Swing

November 19, 2022

“The golf swing is like a powerful graceful dance." — George Knudson.

Great description of the golf swing from the legendary great Canadian ball striker George Knudson.

A good dancer uses their feet, ankles and hips from the ground up to move their body.

Watch a good dancer they have active feet moving gracefully on the dance floor. Their rhythm, timing and movement seems so easy and effortless. Just like a good golfer!

Good golfers have good footwork. They use their feet, ankles and hips to turn and pivot freely away from the target during the backswing and toward the target on the downswing - all in the correct sequence of motion to generate speed, consistency and power.

Many people struggle with dancing because they try to dance from the waist up...just like golfers who struggle overusing their arms and hands to move the golf club back and through the ball.

They lack consistency, accuracy and power.

They never use their feet correctly.

Check out the practice drill below that will help improve your footwork to get you moving your body easily and effortless to swing the club with consistency and easy speed!

If you're having pain and mobility restrictions in your feet, ankles, knees or hips, this will be a great session for you.

It's very difficult to swing the club consistently when struggling with this issues.
